Fajitas!
I made a complete meal for some of my friends! It’s also super easy :) I used zucchini, tomato, green and red bell pepper, and onion for the veggies in the fajita. I bough a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and shredded it. I added some spice, red chilli paste and chopped garlic, to both the veggies and chicken. The beans were mixed with taco seasoning. Of course, I also...
What goes with ketchup!?
Homemade fries and mac n’ cheese! If you’ve never put ketchup on your mac n’ cheese, trust me.
Super simple dinner!
Fries:
Cut a potato :), drizzle olive oil, lemon pepper, salt. TOSS so the potato wedges are coated. Heat the oven to 375 degrees, bake for about 40 mins. I turned the fries half way through.
Mac n’ Cheese:
Cook some pasta, to cooked pasta add some milk,...

Veggie Sausage Egg Breakfast Sandwich
I made some scrambled eggs with veggie sausages. I’ve had some of my friends who eat sausage taste it and they can’t tell the difference. For my “fake meat” eats I swear by Morning Star. For this meal I used :
I added a little bit of cheese on top before assembling my breakfast sandwich. It was super quick and delicious!

Mushroom, avocado, and cheese Turkey Sandwich
This was a simple sandwich. All I did was toast pre-cut mushrooms and the sandwich thins. I sprinkled some shredded cheese on the warmed bread. Then I just added lettuce, some avocado, and turkey slices. DONE! And it was pretty good too. :)

Prelude
I have just graduated from UCSD with a BS in Molecular Biology. I have moved back home. In the time between graduation and my next step, I need to keep busy. This is why I decided to learn to cook. I plan to post up every homemade meal I make. Hopefully I’ll be improving over time. Feel free to join me, and suggest recipes. I am on a budget with money and time. With those conditions in...

What do we really listen to?
For those of you in the UC system, Alexandra Wallace’s racist rants against “Asians in the library” are probably old news by now. But for those of you who aren’t here’s a quick recap of what I saw:
Wallace’s video spread through Facebook really quickly. The comments on the video poured in so fast that I never made it past the first page because there were that...

Nikeatsss! I am SO glad you have decided to change your life! I too, went thru a similar experience recently and it’s so therapeutic to find out that people out there think the same way as you. Man, honestly I’ve been into this yoga/alternative medicine stuff for years but I guess I was always so timid to bring out that side of me because I thought people would judge me and call me...
Anonymous asked: Great site! Very informative, will definitely be checking back for tips on yoga and natural health! Thanks!
Anonymous asked: Medically speaking, how much does yoga, and herbal medicine actually do to keep people out of the doctors office? It seems to be a craze, but is it actually helping. I can understand the yoga, as helpful, but herbal medicine?

Healthy Food; Healthy Body
So my mom recycles her old magazines to me and I came across and old article in the October 2010 issue of Vogue. “Force of Nature” by Ginny Graves is about how the right diet can prevent diseases. This implies that if you have an unhealthy diet, you may get more diseases. The link between diet and illness is a strong one. This is a concept that many people are familiar with though. America is fat...

Aloe Vera is not just a plant
When I first started researching alternative medicine and treatments I was focusing on what is consumed or eaten to prevent disease or cure diseases. However, this past week I decided to focus on what products are used on the outside of our bodies. I was mainly interested in the aloe vera plant. My curiosity was sparked because as I set out to buy a new face lotion, and aloe vera was in almost...

Meditation is more than just exercise.
This past weekend my mom showed me a dvd she got on meditation. I had never actually seen a dvd on the subject. I normally just follow what my mom tells me to do and she learns it from a class she takes at a local temple. To be fair my mom did get the dvd from the temple in hopes that I would take it. I did not and she should know better but I do think she was just happy that I watched it (mainly...

"My Yoga Blog" →
This caught my attention because the author of this blog writes everyday of her yoga endeavors. She tells you about classes shes taking, yoga positions she’s trying and even includes helpful hints about both and everything in between. I found this really interesting to read and hopefully you might too!

Heart Health Information →
This is a site that deals with heart health. It talks about different supplements and their value, different symptoms that can’t be ignored, and a lot of other heart health information. I thought about including this website here because of the large epidemic of heart health in America. Hopefully someone learns something, but if not I sure did.

@ one week.
Update time! So its been a week since the implication of my new routine. I don’t feel extraordinary different. My mom says I should be more patient instead of expecting instant results. Especially since I’m not sure what I’m expecting to gain from this. There was one difference – maybe. I have a really packed class schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have solid class from 11...

The three day hump.
I thought I’d do a check-in with the blogosphere with an update on my mini experiment. I got through the first three days! And as most people know it takes three days for your brain to learn something or unlearn something so this means my brain has officially inputted my new routine to memory! Hopefully it’ll get easier to remember from here on out. The first day, I didn’t make...

The Beginning.
Hello blogospehere. Until recently I did not even know that Tumblr was considered a blog. I barely use mine except to see what the people I follow have reblogged or blogged themselves. I am more of a Twithead more than anything else, even facebook and email. With that said, bare with me as I get used to this new world of blogging.
I’ve decided that I really need to change my life. Well, to...

JOHN MC CAIN: My friends that chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.
